FROM THE IMMIGRANT AND REFUGEE SUPPORT (IRSC) COMMITTEE--HELPING AFGHAN REFUGEES

Coming to the United States for any reason is complicated and just getting here is not the end of what surely has been a frightening journey. Most have fled from war, violence, poverty and the effects of climate change. Many have nothing and, depending on immigration status, little from our government in the way of support. They rely on humanitarian assistance for their survival, even now.
